SOUTH DAYTON: Judith A. Weaver, 79, of Allegany Road, South Dayton, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, following a short illness.
She was born in Gowanda, on March 31, 1944, the daughter of the late Adra and Daphne (Waterman) Fancher.
Judith was a graduate of Pine Valley Central School, Class of 1962, where she was the very first Homecoming Queen. She worked as a Laboratory Office Manager at former Tri-County Hospital Gowanda, for over 30 years and previously worked for the former Peter Cooper in Gowanda. Judith had an award winning Apple Pie at the former Apple Festival in Forestville and enjoyed baking. She liked spending time with her family, siblings and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Jack Weaver of South Dayton, whom she married on November 9, 1963, in the Cherry Creek United Methodist Church, two daughters, Marci (Kevin) O’Brien, of Tonawanda; Amy (Kristopher) Drozdziel, of Forestville; a son, Mike (Becky) Weaver, of Forestville; sister, Pat Fancher, of Gowanda; four brothers, Douglas (Karen) Fancher, of Safety Harbor, FL; Bruce Fancher, of Florida; John Fancher, of Asheville, NC; and Bill Fancher, of Florida. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Orianne Fancher of South Dayton & Sharon Fancher of Perrysburg, brother in laws; Jon (Cindy) Weaver of Cherry Creek, Tom (Gary Inkel) Weaver of Vermont, and Doug (Candy) Weaver of Cherry Creek seven grandchildren; Erin and Lyndsay O’Brien, Amanda, Bret and Evan Weaver, Travis and Sophia Drozdziel and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers Chuck and Don Fancher and brother in laws and their wives; Fred Weaver, Ed (Barb) Weaver, Dean (Doralyn) Weaver, Ned Colvin and sister in law Vicky Fancher.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, time and place to be announced.
