Jacob M. “Ralph” Eckstrom
Jacob M. “Ralph” Eckstrom, 39, of Sugar Grove, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Corry Memorial Hospital of a massive heart attack.
He was born on December 5, 1984, a son to Denny & Holly Eckstrom. Jacob was a 2003 graduate of Southwestern High School, where he was active in Cross Country, Wrestling, Track and studied carpentry at BOCES.
He worked for several local companies over the years including, JNK, Leonard Construction, Eckstrom well service, Curtis Oil, Iron Cary, Grant Lumber and most recently, Energex Power Inc., as a well tender.
Jacob loved being outdoors and he usually had a Pepsi in hand. He loved spending time with family and friends and he was usually picking on someone but that is how he showed his love for everyone. If you needed help, Jacob was there, but especially for his parents with chores around the farm and horses. His other loves were spending time at his grandparents house riding ponies and playing in the barn.
Jacob also loved pulling horses and at the age of 16, he won the farm pull at the Warren County Fair with Bill and Bob, they pulled 5,400 pounds! He was involved with the Stateline Draft Horse Club and attended many horse pulls with them.
In his spare time, he was working on his house trying to make it perfect for his family. Jacob loved going to his children’s sporting events and was one of the loudest ones on the sideline. One of the happiest days of his life was watching his son, Keegan, graduate from high school this past June. He also loved going to Stateline Speedway on Saturday nights to cheer on his cousin.
Jacob leaves behind his parents, Denny & Holly (Holland) Eckstrom; his wife, Tonya Carlson-Eckstrom, who he married on November 13, 2021; his children, Keegan Eckstrom, Hunter Pesko-Eckstrom and Colt Eckstrom, his 2 step-children, Ryan Hughes and Kendall Hughes that he loved as his own; his siblings, Anna (Bill) McArthur, Jason (Heather) Eckstrom, Ashley (Mike Ferry) Eckstrom, Jaylynn Eckstrom and Alianna Eckstrom as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, unlces, cousins and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Francis Eckstrom and Donald and Anna Holland.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17th, at the Lottsville United Methodist Church, 71 Lottsville-Niobe Rd, Bear Lake, PA 16402, from 10am-12pm at which time a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Jeff Mitchener, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lottsville Cemetery.
