Charles J. Kopta Sr.
Charles J. Kopta Sr., 94, of Ripley, NY, died January 13, 2024 of dementia at Cory Manor. Charles was born February 11, 1929 in Mina, NY. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Charles was employed as a milk hauler for Carnation and Middlefield Cheese for 34 years. He was always a farmer who loved his cows.
He is survived by: his wife, the former Marjorie Skinner, who he married on June 17, 1967; two sons: Charles Jr. (Shelly) of Panama, N.Y. and David of Ripley, N.Y., a daughter, Christine of Ripley N.Y.; three grandchildren: Justin (Atalaya) of TX., Kayla (Nicholas) Troup of Huntingdon, TN and Andrew (Lee Ann) of Warren, PA; three great-grandchildren: Tazmyn, Ethan and Declan and a sister Anna. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Elizabeth Kopta; six brothers: Paul, George, Les, Frank, John and Andrew and a sister, Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ Our Hope Parish, St. Matthias Site,at a future date.
