Sharon Lea Cook
Sharon Lea Cook, 76, of Greenhurst “Point Stockholm”, formerly of West Ellicott, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023,, in Ja, at UPMC Hamot surrounded by her family.
She was born October 9, 1947, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Robert and Clydell Howe Lindahl.
She was a 1965 graduate of Bemus Point High School.
Sharon was a very hard-working and dedicated employee. Before her retirement she was employed at the War Vets, Maddox table Company, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Inc. for over 10 years and most notably for Anderson Screw Products for over 15 years.
Sharon was a member of Kidder Memorial UMC and Dewittville Harfield UMC. She was also a member of the Celoron Moose, lifetime member of the War Veterans Recreation, Celoron Legion post 777, and the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association.
Sharon had the gift of gab and loved to socialize with friends and family. Her laugh was contagious and her smile very beautiful. She enjoyed her ladies bowling league, taking ceramic classes in the 70’s, and going dancing with her husband Tommy. Together they enjoyed over 20 years wintering on Pine Island Florida, making great memories with their dear friends.
Surviving is her two daughters Tammy (Don) Ernewein, Dina Cook; two granddaughters: Ryhan Ernewein, Olivia Engstrom; two grandsons: Benjamin and Andrew Ernewein, 5 great grandchildren, her beloved little sister Sandra (Tim) Kelly, dear friend Valerie Varner who was always there for her, several nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Velvet.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas “Tom” D Cook Jr., whom she married October 16, 1965, and who died September 19, 2020; stepfather Edward Ulmer and two brothers Dale Lindahl and Robert “Skippy” Lindahl.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday December 19, at the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 4 to 5:30 at the funeral home prior to the service.
