Ron Saff

He attended Jamestown High School and worked at his father’s company, Jamestown Fabricated Steele for many years. He was an over-the-road trucker finishing his career as a Transfer Station Attendant where he retired.

Ron loved more than anything his wife Retha, who predeceased him April 13, 2003. He loved telling stories of her, her amazing cooking and talented painting. Ron also loved “Kitty”, his feline companion of many years. As long as he had Kitty, life was good. Ron was an avid hunter and enjoyed his cup of coffee while looking at his land viewing the deer. He enjoyed running his errands and especially his trips to the bank to see the girls. To know Ron was to know a kind man who lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He was loved by those around him who truly knew him.

Ron will be greatly missed by those he considered his family; Phil and Gretchen Hind, with their children Isaac, Xander, and Aliza and ‘Kitty’. Ron is survived by a sister.

Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife Retha (Slater) Saff; his parents Leonard C and Clara M. Saff, and a nephew.

As per his wishes, there will be no services held. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph.
