Robert H. “Bob” Lindberg Sr.

Robert H. “Bob” Lindberg Sr., 80, of Jamestown, died Dec. 25, 2023, in his home.

He was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Jamestown, a son of the late Mel and Molly Spence Lindberg.

Growing up in Ellington, he attended Cassadaga Valley Central School and graduated in 1960.

Following school, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving for eight years and three tours of duty in Vietnam, and achieving class BM 2.

Prior to his retirement in 1999, he was employed for 34 years by the City of Jamestown Department of Public Works. He earlier had worked for Super Duper on Fluvanna Avenue in the bakery.

Bob was a proud member of Ingjald Lodge #65 Independent Order of Vikings for many years and held various offices.

He always enjoyed meeting “the guys” at Tim Hortons for morning coffee.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years Linda Schuwerk, whom he married in 1968, a son Robert Lindberg, Jr of Jamestown; daughter in law Dawn Lindberg and grandson Drew Lindberg both of North Carolina; a brother Roy Lindberg of Lewiston, NY and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Thomas Lindberg North Carolina; a sister and brother in law Molly Ann and Bob Willson; brother and sister in law Mel and Myrtle Lindberg and Sister in law Jeanne Franchina.

At Bob’s request no funeral services or visitation will be observed.
