Joseph Salvatore DiCarlo
Joseph Salvatore DiCarlo, PhD passed away on December 15, 2023. Joe was born on October 21, 1937 in Buffalo, NY to Anthony and Lucy DiCarlo. Joe grew up in the Riverside neighborhood of Buffalo surrounded by all of his close knit extended family.
Joe earned his undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees from the University of Buffalo. He ended his extensive career as the Associate Executive Director of The Resource Center of Jamestown, NY. Joe was very involved in the music community and headed and served on several boards of directors locally.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 56 years, Valerie, two children, Tony DiCarlo of Los Alamos, NM, and Diana (Barry) Bay of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by his sister Fran Fliss of Melbourne, FL. Joe and Valerie share five adoring grandchildren, Jackson, Mackenna, Reya, Phoenix and Keaton. He also has countless nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews who adored “Uncle Joe.”
Joe was proceeded in death by his parents, Tony and Lucy DiCarlo, his in-laws, Warren and Madelene Brown, as well as his older siblings Vince DiCarlo, Concetta (Don) Evans and brother-in-law Joe Fliss.
Celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 beginning at 10am at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, 508 Cherry Street, Jamestown, NY 14701. Reception to follow in the church hall.
