George W. “Bill” Johnson
George W. “Bill” Johnson, 99, formerly of 121 Hebner Street, died Friday October 20, 2023, in the Lutheran Home.
A native of Jamestown, he was born January 27, 1924, the son of Ernest Alfred and Floy Adrina Lawson Johnson.
He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy serving from 1942-44 as an aviator.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by National Fuel Gas as an installer and service technician.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
His hobbies include photography and building model airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his wife Violet Alm Johnson, whom he married January 3, 1964, and who died September 28, 2020, and also a daughter Lynn Johnson who died September 1, 2022.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday in Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Visitation will not be observed.
