Robert E. Charles

He was born July 29, 1934, in Chautauqua, NY, a son of Oscar and Eva Baker Charles.

He served in the US Army from 1957-59.

Prior to his retirement he was employed by Twin Auto as a mechanic.

He enjoyed working on cars and helping people, but more than anything he loved spending time with his family including his numerous nieces and nephews.

Surviving is three daughters Janet McFaul of Millington, TN, Janine (Chuck) Weber of Frewsburg and Jill (Gregg) Rough of Jamestown; seven grandchildren, Robert McFaul, Michelle McFaul, Alan (Shelly) Brady II, Ashleigh (Michael) Calimeri, Amelia Rough, Alyssa (Tyler) Settelmaier, and Annalise Rough; 10 great grandchildren Katelyn (Andrew) Allen, Jaydon Work, Mikayla Brady, Ava Rough, Jackson Brady, Peyton Brady, Skylar McFaul, London McFaul, Gabriel Lyles and Reese Settelmaier; a great-great-granddaughter Alivia Sweet; a brother Roger (Bonnie) Charles and three sisters Clydell Barlett, Donna Olsen, and Carolyn Barlett.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Julieanne Goranson Charles, whom he married Oct. 8, 1958, and who died Oct. 25, 2011; a granddaughter Jennifer Brady Lucas; a sister Carol Fisher and a son in law Kevin McFaul.

Friends will be received from 1-4 pm Sunday at the family home 69 Allen St., Jamestown.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
