Melody L. Erhard

Melody L. Erhard, 68, of Mayville, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

She was born Sept. 19, 1954, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Clifford and Alice Badgley Erhard.

Mel worked primarily as a waitress in several local restaurants, including the former Dick’s Harbor House and Chautauqua Harbor House. She was known for being the Jill of all trades at work and would help where help was needed. She had also owned and operated her own restaurant in Jamestown, NY called Mel’s Eatery.

Mel was proud to be an ordained minister and had married several couples, including her granddaughter. She enjoyed Elvis, her cats, butterflies, working at the restaurant, and spending time with her friends, and family.

She is survived by her loving companion, James Bryte of Mayville, NY; her daughter, Amy Baker (Andrew) Davidson of Westfield, NY; six grandchildren, Billy Baker Jr., Jessalynn Baker, David Ralph, Michael Ralph, Allison (Brian Nuse) Cole, and Kevin Weary Jr.; three greatgrandchildren, Madison, Micah, and Kayden; one brother, Ronald “Oge” Erhard of Panama, NY; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Billy Baker Sr.; three brothers, Les Erhard, Steve Erhard, and Dana Erhard; and one sister, Bonita Burch.

At Mel’s request, a private graveside service will be held in the Mayville Cemetery.
