Robert A. Foster
Robert A. Foster, 77, originally of Jamestown, peacefully took his last breath on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was born on Feb. 28, 1945, to the late Herbert and Carol Chase Foster.
He attended Jamestown area schools. He worked for Black Stone, Union Pacific Railroad as a gandy dancer, Watson mfg. and Proto Tool. He loved Chautauqua Lake and later in life was a driver for the Chautauqua Belle. Robert had a big heart and a free spirit.
He is survived by four children. David (Christine) Foster of Hazard, KY, Rebecca (Chuck) Frye of Panama, NY, Richard Foster of Viper, KY, and Philip (Jennifer) Foster of Cedar Rapids, IA, 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. His sister Kathryn (Daniel) Holdridge, of Port Richie, FL, brother David (Trudy) Foster of Thornton, CO. Brother-in-law, Wayne Leasure of Fluvanna, NY, Sister-in-law Ruth Ann Foster of Westfield, NY.
He is proceeded in death by siblings, Joyce Leasure, Paul H. and Leroy G. Foster, and a grandchild David Foster Jr. Celebration of life will be July of this summer, location to be determined.
