BROCTON — Julie A. Spears, 62, of Webster Road, Brocton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Dunkirk on November 29, 1960, the daughter of the late Robert and JoAnn (Chambers) Majak.
She was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Class of 1978 and graduated from JCC in Journalism & Nursing. Julie worked as a Supervisor for Aftercare Nursing Services, Jamestown, for 2 years. She was a retired nurse & an ordained Spiritual Minister. Julie wrote articles for the OBSERVER for many years and received awards for her poetry. She enjoyed drawing & painting, crocheting, making clothing & canning.
Survivors include her husband Steven C. Spears of Brocton, whom she married on December 9, 1978, in the Town of Arkwright, a daughter, JoAnn (Eddie) Pareds, of Dunkirk; three sons Steffin (Katie) ChaisonSpears, of Wakefield, MA; Nathan (Beverly) Spears, of Brocton; Matthew Spears, of Dunkirk; two brothers, Robert Majak, II, and Michael Majak, both of Brocton. Also surviving are ten grandchilren; Michael, Julie, Erianna, & Eddie Pareds, Jr., Mary Catherine & Griffin Spears, Nicholas Smith, Austin & Sebrina Spears and Alivia White, two great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 21st from 1-5 pm at the Sheridan VFW Memorial Post #6390, Rt. 20, Sheridan, NY.
