Jerald L. “Jerry” Trask

Jerald L. “Jerry” Trask, of Frewsburg, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing Facility.

He was born October 13, 1944, in Jamestown, a son of the late Levi M. and Mildred R. Guichard Trask.

He was a 1962 graduate of Eisenhower High School and was a veteran of the US Army.

Jerry was employed by Carborundum for many years and retired from there twice, once as a pattern maker and lastly as a night supervisor.

He was a member of the former Sugar Grove Rod & Gun Club, and after it became Sugar Grove Amvets Post 50 he was a member since 2001. He was also a member of the American Legion Samuel Derby Post 556, and he was a lifetime blood donor to the American Red Cross.

He was an avid reader, enjoyed kayaking, white water rafting, and riding his Harley motorcycle.

Jerry is survived by his daughter Debbra (Nathan) Bailey; son Levi (Michelle) Trask; seven grandchildren: Alex Bailey, Abi (Jake) Landean, Izzi Bailey, Jo Bailey, Alivia Trask, Janna Trask, Joseph Trask; an honorary daughter Bobbie Jo Carlson; and a brother Larry (Kathy) Trask. He is also survived by numerous others he loved as family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet A. Sliter Trask in 1995.

Jerry’s children would like to thank Wendy and Stan Kuhns for their continual love and support for Jerry since the passing of his wife. In addition, they would like to thank the staff and patrons of the Dinner Bell for providing Jerry a community of food and friendship.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the American Legion Samuel Derby Post 556 in Frewsburg, immediately followed by a luncheon and visitation until 3 pm. Rev. James Bailey will officiate. Casual attire is welcomed.
