Cheryl A. Long

She was born November 28, 1953 in Blue Knob, PA., the daughter of the late Samuel W. Long Jr. and Geraldine “Geri” Smith Long of the Town of Coldspring.

Cheryl was a 1971 graduate of Randolph Central School and Jamestown Business College.

She retired from Accredited Care of Jamestown, where she worked in housekeeping. In earlier years she worked at Allegany State Park (Red-house) in the Administration building, Casa Grande Apartments in Tempe, AZ, and guest relations/gate operator at the San Diego airport.

She enjoyed spending time with her large family, traveling and riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

She is survived by her mother, Geraldine “Geri” (Smith) Long of the Town of Coldspring, NY, a son, Michael Long and fiance Kimberly Snow of Salamanca, five grandchildren, Skyler, Ethan, Brooke, Mackenzie and Taylor, a great granddaughter, Elianna, a brother, Scott Long of Napoli, a sister, Linda (Jim) Dee of New Mexico, and a brother-in-law, Chuck (Lisa) Sluga of Steamburg..

She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Long Jr. in 2021, a brother, Blaine R. Long in 1979, two sisters, Vickie L. Sluga in 2008, and Sandra Long in 2019.

A private service will be held for the family in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, New York 14772. The Rev. Edwin Ramirez will officiate. Burial/Inurnment will be at the Steamburg Cemetery.
