Gary Cady

Born May 7, 1955 in Dunkirk the son of the late Glenn and Claudia Penhollow Cady. He was a Cassadaga resident most of his life.

Gary was employed as an equipment operator with the building and grounds crew at SUNY Fredonia for 38 years.

He was a Charter Member of the Son’s of the American Legion, Squadron 1280, Life Member of the Fredonia Beaver Club and Exempt Member of the Cassadaga VFD.

Gary was a classic car enthusiast and restored his ’77 VW Beatle, enjoyed repair small engines and tinkering with/fixing things, boating on Cassadaga Lake and being outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

Husband of 43 years to Barbara Guichard Cady who he married Mar. 10, 1979; brother of Connie (Almet “Toots) Josephson of Cassadaga and James (Pat) Cady of Mooresville, NC; brother-in-law of Sue (Joe) Newark, Patricia (Greg) Hyde, Johnny (Wanda), Danny (Pat), Ernie and Billy (Ginger) and Peggy Guichard. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Cassadaga Memorial American Legion, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga. Private burial in Cassadaga Cemetery.
