Theodore Lewis Mott

Theodore Lewis Mott
Theodore Lewis Mott, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, left this earth for heaven on June 29, 2022, at the age of 87.
Ted was born in Brockport, N.Y., on Sept. 7, 1934, to Eleanor (Ross) Mott and Theodore H. Mott.
He graduated from Syracuse Central High School and joined the U.S. Navy where he served for four years aboard the USS Newport News. Upon completion of his military service he was hired by IBM where he would spend his entire career. On May 25, 1957 he married June Lee, with whom he shared a love of music and their three daughters.
Ted enjoyed fishing and introduced his wife and children to the Adirondack Mountains, a place he had visited frequently with his father, and where his family gathered to celebrate his 80th birthday.
He was a ‘do-it- yourself’ handyman who took on projects ranging from stringing pasture fencing to building a barn, often enlisting (or at least trying to enlist!) the help of his less than enthusiastic daughters.
In retirement, he enjoyed traveling with June, gardening, and time spent with family. He loved the Lord and was involved in many church activities including his favorite, singing in the choir.
Ted is survived by his wife, June; his children: Carolyn (Mott) and Mark Dimas, Maretta Mott, Margaret (Mott) and Dr. James Forgan; brother, C. Michael Mott; Grandchildren: LCDR Aaron Dimas, Katherine (Dimas) and Dr. Robert North, Kelsey Dimas, Emily Forgan, BM3 Theodore Forgan; and great-grandchildren: Owen and Abigail North.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry; and sister, Karen.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a,m, Thursday, July 21, in the Prayer Room of Christ Fellowship Church, 5343 Northlake Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and will be followed on Friday, July 22 at 10 a.m. by a committal service and military honors ceremony at the South Florida National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you send a card to June, whose day would be brightened by hearing from old friends (address: 11381 Prosperity Farms Road, Apt. 400, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410).
A donation in Ted’s memory can also be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Ted’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Brookdale Palm Beach Gardens Assisted Living staff and the Trustbridge Hospice staff.
