Dale H. Coleman

He was born Feb. 18, 1951, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late Howard and Mary “Betty” Johnson Coleman.

Dale was a graduate of Sherman Central School. In his younger years, he worked on the family farm in Stedman and then worked for many years, and retired from, Fairbank Farms in Ashville.

He enjoyed fishing, classical cars, airplanes, his vegetable garden, collecting coins and stamps, playing cards and reading war books. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dale is survived by his three daughters: Amanda (David Dituri) Coleman of Portland, N.Y., Lindsey (Eric) Remington of Brocton, N.Y., and April (Shawn) Shutack of Copperas Cove, Texas; one stepson; Shawn (Jennie) Coleman of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren who affectionatela called him “Papa D”: Emily and Nadalie of Portland, N.Y., Gracie and Leighanna of Brocton, N.Y. and Kenneth, Cheyenne and Jonathan of Copperas cove, Texas; one brother, Scott Coleman; two nieces: Petra and Heather LaCrosse; and two nephews: Brent LaCrosse and Scott Coleman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene LaCrosse.

A graveside service will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, N.Y.
