Joseph A. Triscari
Joseph A. Triscari, 95, of the Lutheran Home, formerly of Falconer, passed away Sunday (March 13, 2022) in the Lutheran Home.
A lifelong area resident he was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Jamestown, the son of the late Rosario and Carmella Paterniti Triscari.
He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and Moler’s Barber School in Cleveland, Ohio. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Word War II and the Korean War. He served in the Pacific Theatre in the Philippines and Korea. During the Korean War he served as a barber in the service.
Joe owned and operated Cozy Barbershop in Jamestown from 1940 to 2008. He was 82 years old when he retired and had an abundance of lifelong customers. From 1973-78, Joe and his wife, Marianne operated Trips Inn in Greenhurst.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church having served as usher for 40 years at OLL. Joe was a member of the OLL Holy Name Society, St. Vincent dePaul Society, Knights of Columbus and St. James Church 1949ers. He was also a member of the Henry Mosher, Samuel Derby Posts American Legions, John W. Tiffany VFW, War Vets Recreation, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Falconer Library and Short Snorters Club for 30 years.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and playing Santa Clause for his grandchildren. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees fan. Joe will be remembered for his great sense of humor and teasing others.
Surviving are his three children: Carole-Jo Triscari Anderson (Bradley Anderson) of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Robert R. (Linda) Triscari) of Jamestown, and JoAnne Triscari Scapelitte (Joseph Scapelitte) of Jamestown; seven grandchildren: Robert C. Anderson, Michelle (Edward) Cerone, Gina Marie (David) Cunningham, Toni Marie (David) Anglin, Robert J. Triscari, JoLynn Triscari and Laurie Ann Reynolds; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown. The Rev. Paul Cygan will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
