Louise Burch Wright

Louise Burch Wright

Louise Burch Wright, 89, of North Grovertown, Ind., formerly of Sandy Ridge, N.C., passed away on Oct. 27, 2021.

She was the daughter of the late Roy and Alice Burch and was born in Jamestown, N.Y., on Dec. 13, 1931.

She was a graduate of Falconer Central High School and earned her nursing diploma (RN) from WCA Hospital Nursing School in 1953. She was an extremely dedicated nurse and worked most of her career caring for children with special needs and various illnesses, both physical and mental. When she retired from that career she continued to work as a home health nurse into her seventies, finally retiring when her health would not allow her to continue.

She was an original member of Ross Mills Church of God and was extremely devoted to her Christian beliefs and her faith in God.

She is survived by six children: Cynthia Louise Wright of Pflugerville, Texas, with whom she made her home and who provided her care for five years after she became ill, Thad Randall Wright of Hayesville, Ga., Richard LeRoy Wright (Manuela) of Wolnzach, Germany, Katherine Marie Wright Clark (Ed Weaver) of Henderson, Md, Michael Shane Wright (Jessica) of Yadkinville, N.C., and Keith Allen Wright of Statesville, N.C. Also surviving are grandchildren: Ana Wright (Craig Campbell), Samantha Gibson (Cody), Judith Wright, Whitney Curtis (Olivia), Kevin Wright, Benjamin Wright, Ashley Clark, Draven Wright and Vanessa (Brian) Ferguson, with whom she made her home and who provided her care for the past several years until her passing. Louise thought of Vanessa and Brian as her daughter and son-in-law. She is also sur-vived by two sisters: Kathleen Burch (late husband Gary Holbrook) of Lakewood, N.Y., and Rebecca FitzPatrick (Matthew) of Ashville, N.Y.; as well as many great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews.

Louise Burch Wright

Besides her parents, Weezie was preceded in death by her husband, Thad, whom she married on Oct, 11, 1953, and who passed away on Dec. 29, 2017; a daughter, Judith Ann Wright in 1974; siblings: Kenneth Burch and late wife, Doris, Shirley Swanson (Alfred), Barbara Miller and late husband, Martin, Lois Bowder and late husband, Adrian.

Not only was Louise a dedicated nurse, she was also a hands on mom who raised her children with amazing work ethics and love. They had every opportunity available while they were growing up and were taught independence early on. Louise had a great love for family.

Weezie loved to collect china dolls and had quite the collection of beauties. She was an avid reader and loved word puzzles and collecting family photos. She was also a huge animal lover. She had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh.

During the years of her traumatic illness, Louise always managed to maintain a positive attitude and did not complain about immobility, pain, discomfort or any of the many problems associated with her condition.

No service will be observed at this time. Per Weezie’s wishes, the family is planning on a celebration of life at Ross Mills Church of God, Falconer, N.Y., in the spring.
