Sue Bender
Sue was born Susan Lee Quilliam in Jamestown, N.Y., on July 13, 1946, the daughter of William V. Quilliam and Eleanor Kraft Quilliam. She had a younger sister, Cynthia and younger brother, Stephen.
Sue graduated from Jamestown High School in 1964. After graduation, she worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield, where she established long friendships with her coworkers that lasted throughout her life. They settled in Franklin, Tenn., where Sue worked at Curtis Mathis Television and then at Williamson County Hospital in medical records. However, she was primarily known as a beloved Den Mother and the local soccer mom, hosting events and matches at her house year round, as well as for her loyal friendship, contagious laughter and warm heart.
Sue returned to Jamestown, N.Y., in the fall of 1994, where she worked at Jamestown Radiology until she retired. She was an avid member of the Jamestown Rod and Gun, Thule Lodge, and The Viking Lodge, where she enjoyed her time with many friends both old and knew.
