Sally M. Pellerito

A lifelong area resident, she was born March 18, 1924, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Alfonzo F. and Josephine LaDuca Mauro.

Sally was a graduate of Falconer High School and owned and operated Hebner Height Grocery Store, along with her husband, from 1953-76. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society of OLL, St. Vincent de Paul of OLL, Junior Matrons and the Southern Tier Kidney Association.

Sally enjoyed her family, grandchildren, great-grand- children, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are five children: Samuel (Kathleen) Pellerito of Jamestown, N.Y., and Sarasota Fla., Mary Ellen (Joseph) Gagliano of Massilon, Ohio, Joan (James) Ricotta of Brighton, Mich., Linda (Phil) Lombardo of Jamestown, Fred M. (Callie) Pellerito of Jamestown; 17 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Pellerito, whom she married Sept. 22, 1945, in Falcon-er, and who died Aug. 7, 1996; three brothers: Sylvester, Russell and Stephen Mauro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 26, in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph A. Jananczek , pas-tor of the church will be celebrant. Due to Covid, it will be a private, family only ceremony. No visitation will be observed. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
