Robert Phillip Enserro
Robert “Bob” Enserro died Feb. 27, 2020, at the age of 77.
Bob was born Dec. 13, 1942, in Jamestown. He was the younger son of the late Angelo (“Boots”) and Josephine (Albano) Enserro.
He graduated from Jamestown High School, class of 1959, where he was an outstanding athlete on the varsity baseball and basketball teams. He continued to play NCAA Division 1 basketball and baseball at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a Bachelors of Science in pharmacy in 1963. He later completed an executive MBA at NYU Stern School of Business.
Bob began his career working in the pharmacy of Jamestown General Hospital before acquiring and managing the Medicine Shoppe pharmacy in Jamestown. He sold it to a large retail pharmacy chain, embarking on a path that would lead him to manage regional and national pharmacy operations for companies including Woolworths, where he became the senior vice president of pharmacy operations.
Bob’s career led him and his wife Kathy to move around the United States, eventually settling in Arizona, where he continued to work as a pharmaceutical healthcare consultant until his death.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Bob was an avid and competitive golf player, who enjoyed playing major golf courses across the United States. He also had a passion for tennis and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren the skills for both sports.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (Brake) of 36 years; brother Joseph (wife, Judy) of Riverside, Calif., daughter Stephanie of Buffalo, N.Y., son, Robert Michael (wife, Vanessa Colomar de Enserro); and grandchildren; Francesco and Arianna of London, England.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Yvonne (Goulding) Brake, sister-in- law, Ronda Brake-Kennedy (husband, Darrin); brother- in-law, Ron Brake Jr. (wife, Wendy) and their families of Jamestown, N.Y.
In addition to his parents, Angelo and Josephine, and his father-in-law, Ronald Brake, Bob was preceded in death by his dear cat, “Kitty Boy.” in 2017.
A celebration of Bob’s life, love and achievements will be held in Jamestown, N.Y., in July 2020, where family and friends will gather to share memories of Bob and times together.
