Robert A. “Bob” Speas

Robert A. “Bob” Speas, 79, of Ellington, passed away Tuesday (March 10, 2020) in his home.

He was born Aug. 31, 1940, in Warren, Pa., the son of the late Anton and Ida Schauers Speas.

Bob attended Ellington High School and in earlier years was co-owner of the Texaco Gas Station in Kennedy. For 55 years. Bob owned and operated Bob’s Corner Service Station in Ellington.

Surviving are his son, Timothy A. Speas of Ellington; his daughter, Cindy A. (Kevin) Bly of Cherry Creek; four grandchildren: Jessica (Brian) Hoitink, Reece Bly, Rylee Bly, Joselyn Speas; a great grandchild, Nicolas Hoitink; and a sister, Deloris Bloomquist of Falconer.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne L. Hull Speas, whom he married Aug. 15, 1959, who died Aug. 7, 2007; three sons: Rodney S., Todd M. and Jeffrey A. Speas; two brothers: Albert and William Speas; six sisters: Cecelia Chambers, Doris Marsh, Helen Madonia, Margaret Johnson, Ruth Slagle and Joyce Frank.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Pastor Jennifer Delahoy, pastor of Kennedy United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Kennedy Riverside Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday in the funeral home.
