Clifford C. Lee

BROCTON — Clifford C. Lee of East Main Road Brocton, N.Y., passed away peacefully, March 10, 2020, at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Dunkirk, N.Y., surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old. Cliff had suffered with Alzheimer’s disease for 14 years.
He was born in Painted Post, N.Y., Oct. 1,1932, a son to the late Clifford H. and Francis K. Lee.
Clifford had went off to serve his country during the Korean War with the US Army from 1951-53. Upon his honorable discharge and returning home, he had married the love his life, Beatrice Niles on Sept.23, 1956. Together they raised two wonderful children.
He had began a career as a New York State Trooper for 23 years and following his retirement from there, he became a security guard at Niagara Mohawk for 15 years.
He and his wife traveled all over the United States in their motor home and belonged to the “Good Friends” Camping Club for many years and had met so many wonderful friends during their camping adventures. He loved to be outdoors, camping and doing woodworking projects.
Clifford and his Beatrice were active members of the Portland Congregational Church in Portland N.Y.
The oldest of five children, he is survived by his sisters: Nancy Lee Bennett and Margaret Edgerton, both of Fredonia N.Y.; his brother, Kenneth (Elsie) Lee of Brocton, N.Y.; his daughter, Joanne (Steven) Pantano of Fredonia, N.Y.; and his daughter-in-law, Ellen Lee.
Also survived by his beloved grandchildren; Erin (Marc) Hamerski of Buffalo, N.Y., Joseph C. Pantano of Canadaigua, N.Y., and Matthew S. Pantano of Buffalo, N.Y. and his devoted great-grandson, Wyatt M. Pantano. Several nieces and nephews further survive.
In addition to his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Lee; and his son; Brian P. Lee who passed away in November 2018.
A Memorial service will be announced in the Spring which will be held at the Portland Congregational Church, 8649 Church St., Portland, NY concluding with full military honors.
