Charles B. Fleming III

Charles B. Fleming III, 62, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 5:43 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, following a brief illness and surrounded by his family at UPMC Chautauqua.

An area resident for most of his life, he was born Aug. 6, 1957, in Wesleyville, Pa., a son of the late Charles B. Fleming II and Mary A. Mattingly Fleming.

Charles proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1976-84.

Surviving is his mother, Mary Fleming of Jamestown: three children: Kelly Fleming of Jamestown, Amy Jo Caldwell and Nathaniel Fleming, both of Falconer, N.Y.; several grandchildren including Amarra Fleming; his siblings: Rhonda Teeter, Paul Fleming and Monica Flaming, all of Jamestown, Karen Fleming and Patricia Jackson of Kennedy, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his father who died Sept.16, 2009; his wife, the former Sharon Vik Fleming, who died June 24, 2013; a brother, Johnny Fleming; a sister, Jacqueline Harris; and a niece, Kristiann Jackson.

A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
