Chris S. Christo
Chris S. Christo, 95, of Hultquist Place, formerly of Westchester Apartments, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, in the Lutheran Retirement home.
A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born April 25, 1923, a son of the late Sotir and Vasilo Jani Christo.
He attended Jamestown Public Schools and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1942-45 and achieving the rank of sergeant.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Watson Manufacturing as a cabinet maker and earlier had worked for Dahlstrom Manufacturing. Following retirement he drove for CARTS.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in his early life and late became a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
He enjoyed bowling and watching auto racing.
Surviving are two children: David Christo and Mary Beth (Thomas) Trusso II, both of Jamestown; four grandchildren: David (Leah) Trusso, Eric (Kristin) Trusso, Kimberly (Markus) Valentinetti and Rachel Trusso; six great- grandchildren: Trenton, Temperance, Lucas, Benjamin and Amelia Trusso and Mason Valentinetti; and a brother, James Christo of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Billstone Christo, whom he married Nov. 19, 1949, and who died June 11, 2015; two brothers: Pete and Andrew Christo; and a sister, Olympia Eames.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home.
