Rosemarie L. Wilcox

Rosemarie L. Wilcox, 82, of Falconer, passed away at UPMC Chautauqua, Saturday (Oct. 27, 2018).

A lifelong area resident, she was born June 17, 1936, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Orval E. and Maxine Atwood Luce.

She was employed by Plastic Case Corp, Klings Ethan Allen, Accredited Care and an insurance agent with Combined Life. 

Rosemarie was a member of the New York State Campers & Hikers Association and a charter member of the Spotted Vagabonds and New York State Bluebirds.

Rosemarie enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, reading, flea markets, camping, country music and most importantly her family and close friends.

Rosemarie and her husband were foster parents for a number of years, for Jamestown City Welfare and then Chautauqua County. 

She is survived by a daughter, Pamela J. Wilcox of Falconer; a son, Morris L. (Jacquelyn) Wilcox of Kennedy; and a daughter- in-law, Sandy Wilcox of Jamestown; 17 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Wilcox, whom she married June 22, 1954, and who died May 17, 2007; a daughter, Patricia L. Wilcox and a son, Ray S. Wilcox; a sister, Winifred I. Stenstrom; and two brothers: Irvin Luce and LaVerne Luce.

Rosemarie made an anatomical gift of her body to the University of Buffalo Medical School. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
