Debra L. Thayer

Debbie was born May 4, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Gordon Dikeman and Norma (Dietzen) Dikeman of Portland, N.Y.

She was a 1976 graduate of Brocton Central School and had been employed as a shift supervisor at the CVS Health/Pharmacy in Westfield, N.Y., since 1981.

Debbie married Daryl R Thayer in 1979 and they were married for 36 years before he preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2015. Together they raised two lovely daughters: Melissa (Tony) Jones of Monroe, N.C. and Christine Fregosi of Monroe, N.C.; five grandchildren: Jennifer and Aaron Robinson, Derek Jones, Michael Duprey and Nicholas Fregosi; one brother, Richard (Michele) Dikeman; three sisters: Cathy L. Ruch, Rebecca (Lini) Lauto’o and Sandra K. (David) Franzen; an uncle, Terrance (Astrid) Dietzen; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews as well as several cousins also survive.

Besides her father, Gordon Dikeman, she was predeceased by one brother, Douglas Dikeman who passed away in 2003.

The funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, from the Morse Funeral Home of Brocton, N.Y. The Rev. Larry Morrison of the Brocton Baptist Church will officiate. A Private Interment will take place in the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited for visiting hours at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y., on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Following the funeral service on Tuesday morning a light luncheon will be provided at the Green Arch Restaurant, 41 W, Main St., Brocton, N.Y. at 1 p.m. Dishes to pass would also be welcome and enjoyed.

The family suggests memorials in Debbie’s memory and honor be made to The Chautauqua County 4-H, 3542 Turner Rd, Jamestown, NY 14701.
