George L. “Joe” White
George L. “Joe” White, 69, of 17th St., Jamestown, N.Y., passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at UPMC Chautauqua WCA.
He was born Sept. 5, 1948, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late George L. Sr. and Thelma Davis White.
He was raised and educated in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1967. He was a member of Der Kobblers Car Club and the NRA.
Joe was self-employed as truck driver at Joe’s Junk. He built his hot rod 1933 yellow Plymouth Coupe from scratch. He enjoyed casinos, car show, dirt track racing and hunting. He loved his children and spending time with his family. He enjoyed socializing and meeting new people.
Joe is survived by his long-time companion of 27 years, Fawn A. Angerer; three children: Michael L. White, Kristie A. White and Quentin T. White: three stepchildren: Scott S. Corbitt Jr., Fredrick J. Karash and Dorisann P. Menosky; his sister: Marcella Keith; two brothers: Al White and Ricky White; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Donna A. White and a great-grandson, Trey White.
Friends may call at Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home, 316 E. Fifth St., Jamestown on Monday from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. A service will be held there at 1 p.m. The Rev. LeRoy Walker, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown, N.Y.
