Walter B. Moline, 99, of Marysville, Wash., formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., entered heaven Jan. 7, 2018.
Walter was born June 17, 1918, in Montclair, N.J., a son of the late Philemon and Amelia Larson Moline.
He married Astrid Swenson in January of 1942, in Montclair, N.J., where he had grown up, and they lived in that area until they retired to Jamestown in 1979. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942-45, at Camp Siebert in Alabama.
Walter worked for Uniroyal, formerly The United States Rubber Co., as a time study engineer in Passaic, N.J., for over 30 years. He also worked for the state of New Jersey before retiring to Jamestown. Following retirement, he worked in Jamestown at Dahlstrom Manufacturing Co. and the Lutheran Home.
Walter was a member of Jamestown’s Hillcrest Baptist Church. He knew and loved the Lord as his personal Savior. His interests included his family, his church, antique cars, having a potato garden, participating in various sports over the years and fishing.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings; his first wife, Astrid Linnea Swenson Moline of 61 years; his second wife, Lorraine Bohlin Swenson Moline of five years; and a grandson, Stephen Moline.
He leaves behind a son, Russell Moline and his wife, Alice of Chesterfield, N.H.; a daughter, Carolyn Mattson and her husband, Lee of Lake Stevens, Wash.; as well as several grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A brief service will be held in the Sunset Hill Cemetery Chapel at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2018. The Rev. Mark J. Hinman, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, will officiate. Visitation will not be observed.
Walter will be buried beside his wife, Astrid, at Sunset Cemetery, in Jamestown, N,Y.
