Dr. Gerald C. Peppy

He was born in Jamestown on Jan. 22, 1940, the son of Samuel and Pearl Bellavia Peppy.

He was a 1958 graduate of Jamestown High School, attended St. Bonaventure University and graduated from The University of Buffalo School of Dentistry in 1965. He practiced dentistry in Jamestown, Mayville and Bemus Point, retiring in 2010 after practicing for 45 years.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and good friend. In retirement, his favorite priority was his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and meeting his friends for coffee.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Donato Peppy, whom he married on June 16, 1962, in St. James Catholic Church; two sons, Gerald Jr. and Dr. Terrence (Kelly); three grandsons, Christopher, Stephen and Nicholas; and two stepgrandchildren, Macy and Brady of Florida; a brother, Dr. S. Jack (Alvera); three nephews, Dr. Samuel Peppy, Dr. Anthony (Kristie) Peppy and James (Melissa); and a niece, Gina Peppy Hess; great-nieces and nephews, Michael, Christina, Margaret Rose and Joseph.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.

Inurnment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service at the church.
