Frank A. Yanik Jr.

Frank A. Yanik Jr., 56, of 4381 Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, in his home following lengthy illness.

He was the husband of Krista Kartesz Yanik, whom he married June 25, 1996.

Frank was born in Jamestown on Sept. 12, 1960, and was a 1979 graduate of Jamestown High School.

He had worked as a manager for Kay Jewelers and Reed’s Jewelers, and then owned his own jewelry store, all in Rochester, N.Y. He then managed the Raymour & Flanigan store in Rochester. After returning to the area in 1999, Frank owned and operated Amber’s Autos in Falconer for a number of years. He always enjoyed buying, working on, and reselling automobiles, especially muscle cars.

Following surgery in Pittsburgh in 1995, Frank was also the longest living pancreas transplant survivor in the country.

In addition to his wife, Krista, surviving are his parents, Frank and Sandy Yanik Sr. of Busti; two sons: Brandon Yanik of Oswego, N.Y., and Kyle Yanik of Jamestown; a daughter, Amber Rose Yanik of Lakewood; as well as three grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Paul, Michael and Jeremy Yanik; and three sisters: Sheryl, Sandy and Sheila; and aunt and uncle, Vicky and Sam Sena.

He was preceded in death in 2003 by a son, Ryan Angelo Yanik.

A service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Erie, Pa.
