Ruth M. Horner

Ruth M. Horner, 97, of 811 Frew Run Road, who passed away on Monday April 3, 2017, has gone on to be with her maker, her husband Roy and all of her loved ones whom have been waiting patiently. Have a wonderful reunion, Mom. She was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Scandia, Pa., the daughter of William and Rose Stingel Van Ord.

Along with her husband, she had owned and operated two farms in Frewsburg, one of which was a dairy. She later worked for the former Ethan Allen in Frewsburg.

Ruth had attended the First Baptist Church in Frewsburg for many years and had a very personal relationship with her God whom she thanked every day for the blessings she had received. She was grateful to have lived in a time from horse and buggy days to missions to Mars and having been able to witness everything in between.

She had a kind and giving spirit that was evident in the way she treated others.

Her children, brothers and sister and many relatives were what she mainly cherished in her life. She was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Miami Dolphins. As she got older she appreciated the simpler things in life like simply sitting outside on a warm spring day just appreciating the beauty all around her.

She had a real passion for looking after her cats, her donkey, Daisy, cows and all her farm animals.

Ruth is survived by two sons: Jerry (Diane) Horner of Frewsburg and Brian (Barb) Horner of Sugar Grove, Pa.; four daughters: Carol Moore and Pamela Horner of Frewsburg, Sandi (Charlie) Adams of Elizabeth Indiana, and Kathleen (Terry) Horner-Blanding of Jamestown; her grandchildren: Gwen Axelson of Jamestown, Beth Beckstrom of Frewsburg, Dan Moore of King, NC, Bruce Moore of Celoron, Matt Moore of Bemus Point, Todd Fitch of S.C., Sherri Tironi of Middletown, N.Y., Jeff Horner of Hackettstown, NJ, Sarah Drake of Princeton, TX, Josh Horner and Selina Horner of Middletown, N.Y., Jim Mahoney of Columbus, Indiana, Rob Mahoney of Jamestown, Tracy Horner of Kiantone, Shane and Austin Horner of Sugar Grove, Pa., Tim Horner of Buffalo, Carey Lee of Jamestown, Heather Wilkins of GA, and Ryan and Tyler Snow of Frewsburg; 31 great- grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
