H. Daniel Howard
H. Daniel Howard, 57, of Gerry, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 4, 2017, at UPMC Chautauqua WCA, with his children by his side.
He was born Jan. 14, 1960, in Jamestown, a son of the late Charles and Ber-nice “Bunny” Smith Howard.
He has been employed for 30 years at Acu-Rite/ Heidenhain Corp., Jamestown in the machine shop and building maintenance. Dan was previously self-employed in construc-tion and also at Ken Asel R.V., Gerry.
Dan was very active in the Allegheny Highlands Council, Boy Scouts of America, was past leader of Falconer Boy Scout Troop 129, past assistant leader of Randolph Troop 103 and 120, member of Order of the Arrow, Vigil Honor, volunteered countless hours at Camp Murz, Mayville, the Elk Lick Scout Reserve, Smethport, Pa., and was a member of the Camp Murz Properties Committee. Dan has volunteered at the Gerry Rodeo for most of his life.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved sharing his knowledge with others and was always on the “upside” of situations, saw the good in everyone and everything and was always a positive force. Dan was very proud, he loved and lived for his children and grandchildren.
Loving father of Brandi M. Howard of Gerry, Jacqueline (Jason) Dorman of Jamestown and Colton D. Howard of Kennedy; proud grandfather of Brandon and Tyler Briggs, Ashlynn Howard, Tristian Clark and Peyton Dorman; brother of Bob Howard of Stockton and Linda (Dennis) Bartholomew of Gerry. Also survived by nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
