Mayville Issues Building Permit To Tim Hortons

MAYVILLE – Construction for a new restaurant in the village will begin shortly.

At the Mayville Village Board meeting it was announced that a building permit has been issued to Tim Hortons to construct a new restaurant at 7 West Chautauqua St.

Developers David and Gina Kron purchased the vacant property in September 2023 from the village of Mayville. Originally at that spot was the former Mayville Diner. The diner was destroyed in an arson fire in December, 2019.

Originally the Krons said they were hoping to start construction a year ago but ran into some delays.

They decided to purchase some additional land from the town of Chautauqua in order to make it easier for traffic to pull in and out of the future coffee shop.

Afterward, the project was sent to the county Planning Board because part of the property was zoned residential. The county Planning Board had no objections or concerns.

Then the state Department of Transportation had some concerns about the entrance and exit on to Route 430, so Tim Hortons had to make some changes to its site plan and bring it back to the Mayville Planning Board for further review and approval.

In a text message, Gina Kron said they are working on a start date. “We are finalizing the project with their general contractor. Once that’s done, we will have a better idea of the project timeline,” she said.

She added that they’re “excited to bring Tim Hortons to Mayville and hope to begin building soon.”

The Krons have multiple Tim Hortons, mainly in the northern end of the county. They have one in Fredonia, two in Dunkirk, one in Cassadaga and one in Westfield.

Starting at $2.99/week.
