PANAMA — Panama Central School’s Superintendent, Aaron Wolfe, has resigned from his position and will be leaving at the end of the month.

Wolfe originally came to Panama in 2022, following spending six years as director of human resources at Olean City Schools, and working at Cattaraugus-Little Valley before that. Following his final day at Panama on March 31, he will be fulfilling the role of superintendent for Wellsville Central School, beginning April 1.

Wolfe’s resignation was accepted by Panama’s Board of Education during the Feb. 10 board meeting. According to the minutes of that meeting, there is currently no plan following Wolfe’s resignation for the continuity of leadership at the school at this time.

According to an article by the Wellsville Sun, Wolfe said his time at Panama has been a “great experience,” but he is excited to start building relationships here in Wellsville.

“I am excited for this opportunity to work in Wellsville,” Wolfe said in the article. “Everyone I talk to tells me this is such a fantastic place. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone. Getting involved in the community and really spending time with teachers, staff and students.”

Additionally, the article noted that the first thing Wolfe wants to do there is get to know the district and community, and following that his mission is to build relationships.

“That’s really important to me,” Wolfe said in the article. “I have a to-do list and building relationships is at the top of that list. Leading through relationships is really the crux of the work for me.”

Wolfe was unresponsive to the Post-Journal’s multiple requests for comment.
