Suspect In City Homicide Case Arrested In Buffalo
A Buffalo resident described as a suspect in the killing last week of a man inside a Jamestown apartment complex has been taken into custody. The man, found with a loaded pistol in Buffalo, was arrested last Thursday, the Jamestown Police Department announced in a news release.
Marlon Clay was found unresponsive around noon Jan. 24 inside the Park View Apartments, 401 W. Fourth St. Clay, a Buffalo resident, was reportedly shot and later pronounced dead inside the apartment building, Jamestown police said.
In an update provided Monday, police said “a suspect was quickly developed and identified by the investigators on scene.”
City detectives were assisted by the FBI and Buffalo police. At about 6:15 p.m. Thursday, the still-unidentified suspect was located in Buffalo; he is currently being held on charges in Erie County.
“The investigation into the homicide of Marlon Clay is continuing and charges are expected,” JPD announced. The department said it is “working closely” with the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office and other law enforcement agencies.
A motive for the shooting has not been released.
