Dunkirk Man Charged In Drug Sales, Weapon Possession
DUNKIRK — A 43-year-old city man has been charged in drug sales and possession of a shotgun after a a month-long investigation.
Narcotics Investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, and City of Jamestown Police Department executed a search warrant at 178 W. Second St., lower apartment around 4:25 p.m. Friday. Entry was made into the residence by the Dunkirk Police Special Response Team. Located inside the residence at the time of the search warrant was Fernando Martinez Jr.
As a result of the search, investigators seized 12.16 grams of fentanyl, 26.15 grams of crack cocaine, 10.92 grams of methamphetamine, scales and packaging material for the distribution of narcotics, a shotgun and over $6,000. Martinez was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence and first-degree criminal contempt.
He was arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court and held on $10,000 cash bail.
Authorities continue to ask members of the community to call and report suspicious or narcotics related activity within their neighborhoods.
