City Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash
Jamestown police confirmed that a 20-year-old man whose motorcycle struck a parked sport utility vehicle Tuesday evening has died due to his injuries.
Police have not yet released the motorcyclist’s name, though he was a resident of the city.
The crash occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday on Falconer Street, between Jeffords and Kipp streets. The 20-year-old’s motorcycle — for an unknown reason — struck the rear of a white Jeep parked on the side of Falconer Street, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles.
The city resident was transported by ambulance to UPMC Chautauqua with serious injuries. On Wednesday, the police department confirmed he had died.
Michael Riolo was inside his Falconer Street residence when he heard the collision.
“It’s something you’ll never forget hearing,” Riolo said. “It sounded like a small explosion.”
Riolo rushed outside afterward and tried to assist.
Officers with the Jamestown Police Department cordoned off the area with yellow caution tape. Members of the county’s Accident Reconstruction Team were later requested to the scene.
Jamestown firefighters, as well as Ellicott police, Alstar EMS and Chautauqua County EMS, also responded to Falconer Street on Tuesday.
