JAMESTOWN POLICE
– Joseph A. Snyder, 40, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday after officers responded to the Dollar General on Winsor Street for a reported shoplifting complaint. After speaking to staff, officers searched the area and found Snyder a few blocks from the store. Snyder allegedly stole $34.45 worth of merchandise from the store. Snyder was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
– Anthony V. Rivera, 20, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer, resisting arrest and DWI at 12:34 a.m. Thursday after city police responded to a reported fight on the city’s west side. Upon arrival, officers reportedly saw a motor vehicle flee from the curbside of where the alleged fight occurred. Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver failed to comply, instead allegedly leading police on a short chase before hitting a curb. The vehicle then came to a stop in the yard. The driver then allegedly tried to run from officers, leading a brief foot chase before he was caught. Rivera was also charged with several vehicle and trafic citations and taken to the city jail pending arraignment.
