Area Police Reports
JAMESTOWN POLICE
– Andre M. Guzda, 18, of Ashville was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance at 5:39 p.m. Saturday after officers brought him into the city jail on an active arrest warrant. He was also found in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine. He will be in court later.
– Laval A. Johnson, 41, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a probation warrant after city police officers brought Johnson into the city jail at 4:13 p.m. Sunday. While inside the jail, Johnson was allegedly found in possession of a small quantity of cocaine. Johnson held until he could be arraigned.
– Sheri W. Hawkins, 53, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief at 11:32 p.m. Sunday after officers responded to a west side home for a reported domestic incident. Hawkins allegedly damaged property during the incident.
– Richard Poorman, 40, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree harassment and first-degree criminal contempt at 7:55 a.m. Sunday after officers responded to a south side address for a reported disorderly man. Poorman allegedly threatened to kill a person and allegedly violated a refrain from order of protection by threatening to cause harm to the victim/protected party. Poorman was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
ELLICOTT POLICE
– Kyle S. Shaw, 34, of Falconer was charged with second-degree harassment on April 5 after officers responded to a disorderly person complaint, where it is alleged Shaw became disorderly and physically threatened an employee at a Falconer business. Shaw was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment and will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Donald L. Ernewein, 75, of Celoron was charged with being a fugitive from justice April 10 at 6:50 p.m. after Ellicott police officers responded to a warrant check. It’s alleged Ernewein had an active felony extraditable warrant out of the state of Florida. Ernewein was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment and to await extradition.
CHAUTAUQUA
COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
– SINCLAIRVILLE – The cause of a fire at a trailer park remains unknown. On Sunday at around 2:15 p.m. the Sinclairville Fire Department along with Gerry and Cassadaga Fire Departments responded to a reported structure fire at 27 Main St, Lot 9 in the village of Sinclairville. Once the fire was extinguished, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested for an origin and cause investigation. After a hands-on investigation, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
DUNKIRK POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Ingrid Collins, 48, of Cassadaga, was arrested April 4 and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
– Richard Conway, 46, of Westfield, was arrested April 7 and charged with second- degree aggravated unlicensed operation and five vehicle and traffic law infractions.
