JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Tyler A. Perez, 41, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest at 4:45 p.m. Thursday after city police officers saw Perez leaving a south side business knowing he had a felony warrant issued by Jamestown City Court. Perez allegedly ran from officers and, after a brief pursuit, was taken into custody. During the foot pursuit, Perez allegedly attempted to dispose of illegal drugs. Perez was taken to the city jail pending arraignment.

– Kevin B. Johnson, 39, of Jamestown was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment and aggravated criminal contempt at 7:19 p.m. Thursday after officers responded to a south side home for a reported domestic incident. Johnson allegedly violated an order of protection by holding down, hitting and choking a person as well as allegedly damaging electronic devices while the person was actively seeking emergency assistance from police. Johnson was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.

– Ellen M. Mesler, 30, of Jamestown was charged with aggravated DWI and DWI per se while Timothy M. Cornelius, 38, of Jamestown was also charged with DWI and DWI per se after officers pulled a vehicle over on Forest AVenue near Terrace Place at 2:10 a.m. Friday. While police had Mesler’s vehicle pulled over, Cornelius, who was driving the vehicle in front of Mesler’s vehicle, allegedly began to obstruct officers as they dealt with Mesler. Both were charged and given tickets to be in Jamestown City Court later.
