Dunkirk man charged in wild Thruway
incident
A Dunkirk man is facing charges after creating a major commotion on the state Thruway on Friday afternoon.
New York State Police report David Payne, 35, was charged after bizarre incidents that took place shortly after 2 p.m. The first incident occurred on Alleghany and Holmes Road, when the car he was driving up to speeds of 100 mph went through a guardrail and landed on Interstate 90 near the Silver Creek-Irving exit. Once he crashed the vehicle, another motorist pulled over to check on his well being. Payne took that motorist’s vehicle and fled westbound before crashing it on East Church Street in Eden around 3:26 p.m.
State police charged Payne with felony fourth-degree grand larceny, felony fourth-degree criminal possession of a stolen vehicle and third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Mariah Crandall, 21, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt.
On Saturday, officers from Jamestown Police Department’s first platoon responded to a westside address at around 2:30 p.m. for an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers found Crandall violating an order of protection issued by Jamestown City Court. She was arrested and transported to Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
— Hipolito J. Pacheco Jr., 62, of Jamestown is facing felony first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment charges.
On Saturday at around 7:16 p.m., officers responded to a South Side Residence for a domestic dispute in progress. Upon arrival, officers were made aware that the suspect, Pacheco, threatened to physically harm the victim and then threw food at her.
Officers had knowledge that there was a refrain from order of protection in place between the suspect and the victim, therefore Pacheco was taken into custody without incident. He was being held in the City Jail pending his arraignment in the City Court.
— Jeremy A. Shepherd, 51, of Bemus Point was charged with operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs. At 7:36 a.m. Saturday, officers came upon a vehicle parked on the wrong side of the street, facing the wrong way. When officers walked up to the vehicle to make contact with the operator, they noticed that the driver was passed out behind the wheel.
Officers had the driver step out and identified himself as Shepherd. During the investigation, Shepherd admitted using a controlled narcotic to officers, and from there he was run through a series of tests. Officers determined Shepherd to have been operating the vehicle while ability impaired and was placed into custody.
— Michael J. Connolly of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal contempt. At around 7:39 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a northside residence for a domestic dispute in progress.
Upon arrival officers located Connolly. Through investigation it was found that Connolly had damaged property belonging to the victim during the dispute. Furthermore, it was found that he violated a valid refrain from order of protection. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
— Justice Mcbride, 24, was charged with felony second-degree burglary, two counts of petit larceny as well as having to outstanding felony arrest warrants.
Officers were dispatched to a buisness on the northside of the city for an unwanted person. Upon arrival officers identified the subject as Mcbride. He was taken into custody without incident and is being held pending arraingnment by the Jamestown City Court.
— Kanisha V. Pintagro, 35, of Jamestown was charged with resisting arrest and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
At around 4:07 a.m., officers were on patrol on the south side of Jamestown. Officers observed a female, who was identified by officers as Pintagro. Pintagro had an active warrant through the Jamestown City Court. Officers approached Pintagro and advised her of the active warrant. Pintagro repeatedly lied to officers about her name in an attempt to avoid her arrest.
Pintagro then resisted arrest but was taken into custody after a brief struggle. A search of Pintagro yielded a quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was held pending arraignment.
— Steven D. Schrecengost, 30, of Jamestown was charged with resisting arrest, felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphanellia.
At around 7:01 p.m., officers were on patrol on the west side of Jamestown and observed a male, who was identified by officers Schrecengost. He had an active warrant through the Jamestown City Court for failing to appear. Officers attempted to apprehend Schrecengost when he led officers on a brief foot pursuit. Schrecengost was taken into custody after a brief struggle and was subsequently found to be in possession of 28.0 grams of methamphetamine, packaging materials, and digital scales. Officers transported Schrecengost to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was being held pending arraignment.
— Amy M Ginnetti, 39, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated, Resident aggravated driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. At 12:47 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to an address on the East side of the city for a motor vehicle acccident. Through investigation, it was determened that Ginnetti was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and had struck a parked vehicle. She was arrested and transported to the city jail.
— David D. Lindsay Sr., 36, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree menacing and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
At around 3 p.m. Friday, officers responded to an address on the West side of the city for a neighbor dispute. Through an investigation it was found that Lindsay threatened his neighbor with a knife in the presence of children. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the City Jail.
