Truck strikes CSX bridge in city

Dunkirk police received a call reporting that a semi had struck the CSX Bridge on Brigham Road before noon Wednesday. After an investigation it was determined that semi was travelling north on Brigham Road and struck the south side of the bridge with the top of the trailer it was hauling. CSX responded to the scene and examined the bridge and Dunkirk DPW cleared the roadway of debris. There were no injuries.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

– WEST ELLICOTT – On Monday, at around 7:20 p.m., the Celoron Fire Department and multiple mutual aid departments responded to 22 Columbia Ave. for a reported structure fire. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Investigators were able to determine that the fire started in the kitchen ceiling area due to an electrical issue.
