– John M. Colon, 56, of Jamestown was charged with tampering with physical evidence, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and vehicle and traffic infractions after officers working on a Gun Involved Violence Elimination detail pulled a vehicle over at 9:19 p.m. Thursday on Washington and West Fourth streets for traffic violations. Colon allegedly threw a small bag out of the driver side window that reportedly contained a quantity of cocaine. Police report additional cocaine was also found inside the vehicle. Colon charged and taken to the city jail for processing before being released with an appearance ticket.
– Samuel J. Franchina, 24, of Jamestown was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of a property damage accident at 11:01 p.m. Thursday after officers responded to the Washington Street Bridge for a report of a motor vehicle accident that took place at Fifth and Washington streets. The accident was reported by an Ellicott police officer who witnessed the incident, according to a police report. The officer said a sedan had struck a city plow truck and left the scene. The sedan was pulled over and Franchina was charged. There were no injuries as a result of the collision. Franchina was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
– Daniel R. Dickey, 28, of Lakeview, N.Y., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and vehicle and traffic citations at 2:58 a.m. Friday after officers pulled a vehicle over on West Seventh and Cherry streets for traffic infractions. Dickey was allegedly found in possession of cocaine and was allegedly driving with a suspended driver’s license. Dickey was taken to the city jail to be processed and released with a ticket to be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Two Jamestown residents face charges after a traffic stop at 8:03 p.m. Wednesday on Foote and Prather avenues led to drugs being found in the vehicle. Officers report seeing drug paraphernalia in plain view inside of the vehicle and, during a search of the vehicle, allegedly found fentanyl inside of the vehicle. Officers charged Christopher J. Light of Jamestown with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was also found with fentanyl and cocaine when police searched him while Aimee L. Hogg of Jamestown was charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They were processed at the city jail and released to be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Tyler A. Perez, 41, of Jamestown, was charged with resisting arrest after city police saw Perez near Forest and Newland avenues. When police conducted a street check, Perez allegedly ran away before eventually surrendering to officers after a short foot chase. Perez was taken to the city jail until he can be arraigned.
