JAMESTOWN POLICE
– Two city residents face charges after police broke up a reported burglary. At 6:10 p.m. Thursday, city police participating in a Gun Involved Violence Elimination detail responded to a south side home for a reported burglary in progress. Officers saw a man jump out of a second story window behind the home while police also found a woman in the home. Patrick Dhondt, 49, was charged with second-degree burglary fourth-degree criminal mischief while Katherine P. Hartman, 36, was charged with second-degree criminal trespass. Both were taken to the city jail until they could be arraigned.
– Three Warren residents face charges after a traffic stop that turned into a drug investigation. Officers pulled a vehicle over for a moving violation at 7:30 p.m. Thursday near South Main Street and the Arterial. Daniel R. Zofcin, 30, Ryan M. English, 32, and Katelin D. Smith, 31, all of Warren, were allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine. Smith allegedly gave police a false name and was charged with false personation in addition to one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Zofcin was charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and English was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. All three were taken to the city jail until they could be arraigned.
ELLICOTT POLICE
– Cassondra L. Knuth,, 33, of Sinclairville was charged with resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday. Ellicott police responded to an unregistered vehicle complaint and found Knuth, who reportedly became disorderly and refused to comply with officers’ commands. Police say Knuth was advised she was under arrest and began to fight with officers in front of a child under the age of 17. Knuth will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Tony J. Stebbins, 37 , of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday after Ellicott police responded to a past-tense shoplifting complaint. It’s alleged Stebbins entered a business in Ellicott and took merchandise from the store without paying. Ellicott police were able to find Stebbins a short distance away. Stebbins will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Ronald C Greene Jr, 34, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree arson, third-degree criminal tampering, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment at 6:19 p.m. Feb. 11. Ellicott police responded to a suspicious fire at an Ellicott business, where it is alleged Greene entered a store and intentionally lit a fire inside the building during business hours. Greene was found and arrested a short time later after officers finished their investigation. Greene was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment. Greene is due to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court later.
– Michael R. Euscher, 24, of Lakewood was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny on Feb. 7. Ellicott police responded to a reported larceny where it is alleged Euscher was taking money from a business in Ellicott. Euscher will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Michael S Lake, 43, of West Seneca was charged with petit larceny at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 21 after officers responded to a larceny complaint, where it is alleged Lake, an employee, was taking items from the store without paying. Lake will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
