JAMESTOWN POLICE

– Magen M. Ballew, 34, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after the police department’s K-9 Unit allegedly saw a driver conduct moving violations on Allen Street near English Street at 12:38 a.m. Jan. 26. Officers pulled the vehicle over. Ballew was allegedly in possession of more than 8 grams of cocaine. Ballew was charged and taken to the city jail until arraignment.

– Dioscelin E. Rodriguez, 36, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal impersonation and outstanding arrest warrants while Jonathan Gonzolez Galarza, 30, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance at at 12:36 a.m. Jan. 26. Officers pulled a vehicle over near North Main Street and West Oak Hill Road. Rodriguez, a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly provided the identity of a family member in an attempt to avoid being taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrants. Officers confirmed her identity and she was taken into custody. During a search of her person officers located a quantity of drug paraphernalia resulting in a search of the vehicle. In Rodriguez’s personal property officers located quantities of methadone and methamphetamine. While speaking with another person in the vehicle, Jonathan Gonzolez Galarza, more than an ounce of cocaine fell from his person which was individually packaged for sale. Both were taken to the city jail until they could be arraigned.

– Marcu sJ. Thomas, 29, of Jamestown was charged with resisting arrest, driving with a suspended driver’s license and traffic tickets at 12:15 a.m. Thursday. According to a police report, officers saw a vehicle on the north side of the city with no insurance. Officers pulled the vehicle over at a downtown business, and the driver allegedly got out of the vehicle and went into a store as officers were telling him to stay in the vehicle. Officers followed Thomas into the store and told him to go back to his vehicle, which Thomas allegedly refused to do. After a brief struggle Thomas was charged. He was released with an appearance ticket to be in Jamestown City Court later.
