JAMESTOWN POLICE
– Three people face charges after a traffic stop at 9:04 p.m. Wednesday at Allen and Maple streets. According to a police report, officers saw a vehicle allegedly commit a moving violation and pulled the vehicle over. Officers allegedly saw equipment in the vehicle commonly used for the weighing, mixing, packaging and distribution of narcotics along with a small quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine. Dazjah S. Coleman, 27, of Jamestown, Jamal M. Jackson, 32, of Jamestown, and Terry J. Amerson, 31, of Buffalo, were taken into custody without incident. During transport to the Jamestown City Jail, Jackson allegedly removed a large quantity of methamphetamine that he had concealed and began to actively destroy it in the marked patrol vehicle, according to police. Police report officers were able to still recover over half an ounce of methamphetamine prior to destruction. Amerson and Coleman were both charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of second-degree criminal using drug paraphernalia. Both Amerson and Coleman were booked and released on appearance tickets and with uniform traffic tickets. Due to Jackson being in possession of a larger quantity of methamphetamine and attempting to destroy it while inside a marked patrol vehicle, he was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree criminal using drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence. After being arraigned in the Jamestown City Jail Jackson was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail.
– Christopher A Smith, 36, was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI per se and traffic charges at 1:23 a.m. Jan. 24 after police officers pulled a vehicle over on the city’s west side. Smith was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was released to be in court later.
