CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
SHERMAN — At about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, multiple fire departments responded to 123 Church St. for a garage fire. Once extinguished, members of the Chautauqua County Fire investigation Team responded. It was determined that the fire had originated due to a wood burning stove being in close proximity to combustible materials. No injuries were reported and the garage was destroyed.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Rafael A. Rodriguez, 61, of Jamestown, was charged with felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and having a blood-alcohol content above 0.18%.
Around 8 p.m. Friday, officers responded to 7-Eleven on East Second Street for a motor vehicle accident. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Rodriguez struck an occupied Chautauqua County EMS vehicle while entering the parking lot. Officers determined that Rodriguez was driving while intoxicated. As a result, Rodriguez was placed into custody and transported to the Jamestown Police Department where he submitted to a chemical breath test which resulted in a BAC three times the legal limit.
— Thomas N. Dulak, 45, of Jamestown is facing a number of drug charges after a traffic infraction late Friday.
At 11:46 p.m., officers observed a vehicle on Barrett Avenue. Officers stopped the vehicle and through an investigation, Dulak was found to have an outstanding warrant out of the Jamestown Police Department.
He as taken into custody without incident when officers located a quantity of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, an illegal switchblade knife, and a cutting agent. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.
He was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
— Alexander M. Larson, 22, was charged with aggravated DWI with blood alcohol content at 0.18% or higher, driving while intoxicated and several traffic violations on Thursday.
At 8:08 p.m., officers were patrolling in the area of West Third Street and Lakin Avenue when they observed an unoccupied, legally parked vehicle with significant rear driver’s side damage. Further west on Third Street, officers observed the other vehicle involved, that had full airbag deployment actively blocking traffic. Through an investigation it was discovered that the single occupant, Larson, of the vehicle in the road, was operating his vehicle with a blood alcohol content higher than .18% when he caused the accident. There were no injuries sustained as a result of the collision. He was placed into custody and released on tickets to return to Jamestown City Court at a later date.
— Donald E. Martin, 36, was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment.
At around 4:10 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a southside business.
Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim who advised that Martin was harassing her and waiting in the parking lot for her to leave. Through an investigation it was found that Martin had been contacting the victim numerous times for no legitimate purpose despite the victim advising Martin to no longer contact the victim. He was approached by officers in his vehicle where he was taken into custody without incident. Donald was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.
— Kristy E. Walters, 33, a fugitive from justice, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance Friday. At 5:43 a.m., officers were patrolling the area of West Eighth Street when they observed an SUV with an expired inspection sticker. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the SUV and made contact with the occupants. Through an investigation, it was found that the passenger of the vehicle, Walters, had an outstanding warrant out of Warren County, Pa. Walters was taken into custody without incident and transported to Jamestown City Jail. While inside of the jail, a quantity of methamphetamine was located in her possession. She was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
— Miguel Jimenez Morales, 39, of Columbus, Ind., was charged with public lewdness and disorderly conduct after an incident at West Third Street and Porter Avenue.
At about 2:33 a.m., officers observed a male standing in the middle of the driving lane obstructing traffic. Officers stopped and made contact with the male.
Prior to doing so officers observed Morales urinating in the middle of the road and exposing himself to traffic while traffic was coming toward him. Officers took him into custody without incident and transported him to the city jail.
