JAMESTOWN POLICE
– Two Jamestown residents face charges after city police officers responded to a request from Child Protective Services on the city’s west side at 12:37 p.m. Friday. According to a police report, during a home check, CPS workers discovered that the living conditions in the residence were deplorable. The Department of Development was also contacted due to the unhealthy living conditions. Officers charged Fernando Mojica Reyes, 25, and Mariangel Velazquez Rosario, 37. They were taken to the Jamestown City Jail and charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. They were arraigned and later released.
– Lisa M. Tucker, 28, of Jamestown was charged with resisting arrest, riding bicycle on a city sidewalk prohibited and outstanding City Court warrants after officers saw a woman riding her bicycle on the sidewalk around 4:17 a.m. Monday on East Second Street near Charlotte Avenue. As officers attempted to stop the woman, she allegedly refused and led officers on a bicycle pursuit for a half a mile before they were able to take her into custody at the dead end of Stafford Street. The woman was identified as Tucker who was found to have outstanding bench warrants out of the Jamestown City Court. She was taken to the city jail until she could be arraigned.
– Adrain M. Melo Estrada, 25, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and resisting arrest at 9:30 p.m. Nov. 19 after officers responded to a west side home. Officers said they found Estrada in the home and told him he had an active arrest warrant for a domestic dispute that occurred earlier in the day. Estrada allegedly tried to run away and became combative with officers. After a brief struggle, Estrada was placed into custody. Estrada was taken to the city jail without further incident.
– Joseph D. Mitchell, 29, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal mischief around 7:29 p.m. Sunday after police officers responded to a north side address for a reported domestic dispute. Officers found Mitchell allegedly violated two orders of protection and stole a cell phone belonging to one of the protected parties. Mitchell fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival but was located a short distance away. The phone was recovered but it was determined that Mitchell had damaged it prior to it being found. Mitchell was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
